Protect your data on the move (from one desk/office to another, from one journey to another, in a car, on a trip, an event, etc.)
keep your devices, media and files with you, both during your trip and your stay (don’t leave them in an office, glove compartment or hotel safe) :
As far as possible:
- disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions on your devices;
- remove the SIM card and battery if you have to part with your phone.
According to CPME-ANSSI / GUIDE DES BONNES PRATIQUES DE L’INFORMATIQUE
- inform your company or embassy if your equipment is inspected or seized by foreign authorities;
- be careful about the equipment offered to you, and don’t hesitate to ask questions if you can’t get it checked by a trusted security service;
- stay alert and avoid connecting your equipment to unreliable stations. For example, if you need to exchange documents during a sales presentation, use a USB key intended solely for this purpose and then erase the data using secure erasure software;
- if they are not trusted acquaintances, refuse to connect equipment belonging to third parties to your own equipment (smartphones, USB sticks, portable music players, etc.).
